Pantam Balamani, a 60-year-old woman from Gajwel village and a member of the Sri Laxmi Kolping Group, faced severe financial difficulties while caring for her paralyzed husband. With no children and mounting medical expenses, she struggled to sustain her household. In 2019, Kolping India provided Rs. 10,000/- under its Individual Income Generation Program (IIGP), enabling her to start a home-based Kirana shop. Now earning Rs. 200/- daily, she manages expenses independently. Grateful to Kolping India, Balamani’s journey showcases resilience and empowerment, proving the transformative impact of community support and livelihood initiatives for marginalized women.
